Two years ago, Sakari - or Sakke to his friends - joined SprintIT as a project manager. Now, in his own words, he shares what the journey has been like, what keeps him motivated and what goals he’s set for the months ahead.
It’s hard to believe it’s already been two years since I joined SprintIT
In May 2023, I signed a contract to start working after summer, with two clear ambitions: to develop my skills as a project manager and to get to work with Odoo. Having had Odoo as my main tool for a couple years in the previous decade in an e-commerce company, I already knew how efficient and flexible it was. My home field was the Inventory module and I was also well familiar with Purchase, and now I was excited to dive into the diversity of the whole system.
Funny story from the start of my SprintIT career is, when Roy the CEO told he actually remembers my name from years back when I still worked at SprintIT’s customer: solving some weird situation where I had been able to get the environment so stuck we had needed SprintIT’s technical help to solve it. All publicity is good publicity, they say.
Looking back,
the past two years my role has been a mix of project management and Odoo consulting, and it keeps me active on both sides.
While our project teams are small, the sense of collaboration plays a significant role. I highly value the teamwork and the feeling of everyone pulling together to get a project over the finish line, both with my colleagues and with our customers. Achieving things together has always brought me joy, and so it does in SprintIT.
One of the things that motivates me most is thinking about how we can improve our processes. It’s exciting to be part of a company that is a market leader. It means we’re setting the standard for many others. I enjoy contributing my ideas and helping to ensure we maintain that status.
Now that I'm back from my summer holiday,
I'm looking forward to some big goals. My immediate focus is on successfully finalizing three ERP projects in the next couple of months. On one hand starting new projects with new customers is exciting, but now I’m happy that my current customers have ideas of further development they want to move on to with us.
